Welcome to Alkmaar

There is much to experience in this historic and cosy city. Discover it for yourself during a day, or perhaps a weekend, in Alkmaar.

Your visit to the beautiful cheese city of Alkmaar naturally starts with a visit to VVV Alkmaar. Located on Waagplein, the VVV welcomes you to tell you all about the beautiful city and its surroundings.

Besides all the information they can give you, you will also find an extensive range of printed matter, tickets, packages and souvenirs.

In Alkmaar, but not during the cheese market season (late March to early September)? At VVV Alkmaar, they give you a peek into this special world with VR glasses. To find out all about the world of cheese, visit your upstairs neighbours, the Dutch Cheese Museum.
