Cheese market

Characteristically Dutch: the cheese market. It is a special spectacle with a square full of cheese and cheese carriers. In Noord-Holland there is a cheese market in Alkmaar. It's easy to take the bus to get there.

The cheese market in Alkmaar is the largest and oldest in the province of Noord-Holland.

From April to September there is a cheese market every Friday morning from 10.00 to 13.00 hrs on the Waagplein in Alkmaar. Sometimes, there are also cheese markets held in the evening.
